"I truly hope that you will also have the privilege to join us as a Company and I am looking forward to meet you soon."

At the age of 23, Julien Röll decided that owning her own business was not exciting enough for her, she wanted to travel and decided that using her Beauty knowledge, working for Steiner would enable her do so and make money at the same time.

In 1999, Julien joined her first ship The Century from Celebrity Cruise line as a Beauty Therapist. She then completed one contact as Assistant Manager on the Millennium and one contract as Manager onboard Celebrity’s fleet ship The Constellation.

Julien believes the knowledge she has gained by being trained at the Steiner Training Academy in London and working on ships is worth 3 times more than the flight ticket it cost her to get there.

Today, Julien is responsible for recruiting Massage Therapists, Fitness Instructors and Nail Technicians, from Africa and South Africa. 5 years after joining Steiner, she is delighted to still be working for the Company, helping to make other peoples dreams come true.

Dear Steiner Applicant,

I wish I could meet every one of you in person and tell you what a career at sea, with Steiner, did for me…and is still doing!

I grew up in a small town called Bultfontein in the Free State Province of South Africa. After completing my studies, I started and managed two Beauty Salons. I then realised that if I want to earn more money and travel the world, I have to make a career change. I then joined Steiner. Naturally, I was unsure what to expect and scared to leave my comfort zone….

2Imagine being in a world where it takes you two minutes to get to work, two minutes to get to the Gym (so no excuses!) and two minutes to get to the Disco or Martini Bar.

You wake up in a different country or island almost every single day. (No driving involved!)

1Ok, so you work long hours, but it is worth it! Just look at some of the perks: There is no cooking or washing dishes, it gets done for you! You can spend your well deserved day off on one of the stunning Caribbean islands! The shopping is fantastic. If you see something you like, a Gucci watch or a Fendi handbag, ladies you can afford it there and then!

4Off to the beach for a swim and some sunbathing with your friends from all around the world. You can treat yourself with a Pina Colada…or even swim with dolphins! Do you think you will miss a South African “Braai” too much…. think again!

5I started off as a Beauty Therapist, working my way up to Assistant Manager and became a Spa Manager. Currently I am part of the South African Steiner Recruitment Team.

I was basically paid to travel, what a bargain! Although, I had to pay for my own flight to get to London, the training I received there was worth three times more, than what it cost me to join Steiner.

70By now you should be very interested and eager to join Steiner. I am looking forward to receiving your application in due course!

Kind Regards / Vriendelike Groete
